Not trying to gross anyone out, but the mucus plug is officially gone. Lost it this morning. I called Melody (midwife) to ask about it -and she confirmed that it was indeed my mucus plug. Gross.
I know this doesn't mean that labor is necessarily imminent. Just like dilation, it could still be weeks. But it tells us that my body is definitely getting ready for labor.
This is yet another way that this pregnancy is different than the last two. I've never lost my plug before labor started. So...dilating and effacing more...lost the plug...I'm seeing now that I really shouldn't have any expectations as far as how this labor is going to progress.
We'll see what happens...
