We're having a BOY!!

We had our 18-week ultrasound today, and we found out that we're having a little BOY!!
after having a bit of caffiene from a decaf frozen mocha to wake him up (I know, I'm bad), he was more than happy to show us his "stuff."

everything else looks great too - good amount of fluid, measuring perfectly, good looking heart, spine, and brain...
He's still sitting in the middle though, which has been causing some pressure already, because of lack of room there, and the lady was having a hard time finding where he was actually attatched to the uterus...so we'll have another ultrasound in about a month or so to check up on him again - check his measurements, fluid levels, space to grow, and all that jazz...

well, here are two out of the eleven pictures that we got. most of them were of the same thing, just lots of shots. these are the best:
This is a good profile picture of him...isn't he cute?? you can even see two of the four chambers of his heart if you look closely.

...And here he is showing us his boy parts...definitely a boy!

Bella and "Baby Anna"

Bella got a baby doll jogging stroller for her birthday. The first thing she said when she put her baby doll - "baby Anna" - in it, was "run, run?" She wanted to take baby Anna for a run, just like I take her for runs all the time...
From the time she got the stroller yesterday at her party, until the time she went to bed last night, she did not go anywhere without baby Anna in her stroller. And taking a nap and going to bed last night were hard things, when she wanted so badly to play!

Anyway, here's Bella, being a "mommy" to baby Anna - good practice for being a big sister :)

Baby Anna chillin' out in the stroller...I'm suprised she's even wearing a shirt.

Princess Cake

Bella's Birthday cake - "Princess Cake".
I used the Pampered Chef Batter Bowl (thanks, Lori) and a 9-inch round cake pan.
Funfetti Cake and Strawberry icing.
and of course, Barbie. A Ballerina Barbie that is always fully clothed. Always a wonderful thing :)
It turned out really great though - check it out:

The Doors are Finished!!

I've been working on these cabinets for what seems like an eternity! Well, Monday, I hit a milestone - ALL of the cabinet doors are back on! No more open cabinets! All that's left is the kickboards on the bottom and the small little trim pieces that just make the cabinets "prettier". So YAY!

Here's the progression of the kitchen cabinet project:

1. Our kitchen when we first moved in (almost 3 years ago!!) June 30, 2006.

2. Phase #1: May 2008, after I got an electric sander for Mother's Day.

3. Phase #2: Sept. 26, 2008 - in the process of doing the rest in one foul swoop! (I finished the actual cabinets in only a couple of days...it was the doors that took forever!)

4. the (almost) finished project: March 23, 2009 - The Doors are on again!!

I must say that I'm very proud...aren't they pretty?

SOWC Auction

The annual Submarine Officer's Wives Club (SOWC) Silver and Gold auction was last night. The purpose is to raise money for the Dolphin Scholarship fund, which gives scholarships to sailors and their dependents for higher education. It's always themed and there is always a contest for the best crew's table decorations/centerpieces/costumes, so we tend to go all out.
This year the theme was "Game On" and with our husbands out to sea, we decided to go really girly. So, we were the "Pink Ladies."
It was a lot of fun, and a great opportunity for Bella and I to get a much-needed break from one another :)

So here's some pictures:

My 13-week baby bump (isn't the camera supposed to make you GAIN 10 lbs? my bump seems so much bigger in real life...):
